WINTER FISHING IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

Happy New Year!!

2019 is off to a good start in southwest Florida. As usual for January, one day we are fishing in shirt sleeves and shorts then the next day bundled up in layers. The great thing with our cold fronts, they hardly ever last more than a day or two then back to sunny warm days.

Sheepsheads are in good numbers and as you can see in the pictures below, we are targeting them a lot. They are a hard fighting bottom feeder and one of our best tasting fish. We catch them inshore and nearshore. Sheepsheads are also known as the "convict fish"  their black vertical stripes makes them easy to identify.

Enjoy the photos of our recent trips and we hope to see you on the water soon.
