FALL FISHING before and after Huricane Irma

Luckily Pine Island and the surrounding Islands were spared from the wrath of Hurricane Irma. The forecast sure didn't look good for us then a small last minute jog in direction sent the storm into Marco Island and inland to our east. We experienced minimal damage, mostly downed trees and the loss of power for a few days. You can see in a couple of the pictures how high the water was in Matlacha, almost to the top of our dock but nothing serious.

Fishing was going along good before the storm and once everything settled down after, fishing was right back on track. Unlike after Hurricane Charley where devastation was far and wide around our Islands there is barely any sign that a storm passed so close.

As usual for southwest Florida fishing you can expect to catch a variety of fish as our waters are transitioning from the heat of summer to cooler days of fall.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our website and read our fishing report. We hope to see you on the water soon.
